Remember when I used to be a good blogger? And I posted sometimes? Yeah, well, obviously that hasn’t been me lately. Apologies. This isn’t a real post, this is just a post to say please don’t forget about me! I will write something real and maybe post a picture or 2 of my dog. (I gave her a bath this weekend, and the pictures will show you that I’m clearly doing ever so much more than that, I’m also breaking her heart.)

Tonight will be a nice night with JS and perhaps some yummy sushi. Tomorrow I’m dashing up to LA to pick up our finished DVD’s. And then it’s Friday! Super! Maybe Tonks will even let me take another nap!

Y’all? I’m wiped. I’m so very glad that it’s Friday, but it’s going to be a long one. Work is insane. We’re trying to wrap up a few big projects, finish some budgeting stuff, write reports, order software. Ugh. It’s a lot. I was hoping to get out early today, so I could go walk WonderDog and play with her lots, but now it’s not looking so promising. Meaning WonderDog is going to be unmanageable with the biting and jumping when I finally DO get to go see her. I know it’s not her fault, especially when I’m unable to play with her as much midday, but it’s very discouraging. Last night I was almost in tears because she just wouldn’t stop biting, no matter what. I am not going to scream at her, or whack her nose or anything, but the scruff of the neck thing and the closing her mouth thing do absolutely NOTHING to deter her right now. It’s so hard to play with her when I’m constantly growling “no!” at her. And I don’t want to pen her up too much while I’m home because I want her to play and burn energy!

AAAARRRRGGGGG!!!

PLUS, I double booked myself this evening for the second time this week. I was invited to go bowling with some friends (which, yay! Friends?! As in, contemporaries to hang out with?!?! Even if it means putting on some very nasty and ugly shoes and throwing a heavy ball down a narrow strip of wood, Me Want!!! FRIENDS!!!), but I also really need to go up and visit some family and family friends because I haven’t done so in very long and I’ve had to cancel on them the past few times.

The ideal situation would be for me to get lucky at work and be able to leave around 4, then walk WonderDog, drive her up the family’s house and then have her be all tired out so I can go bowling.

Say a little prayer for me. I’m nearing the end of my rope with all I’m needing to do.

So the first Puppy Vet Visit went very well (I know you’re worried). She got her first DSomethingOrAnother Shot. And we’re scheduled for our follow up shots. She didn’t whine or cry once! Which is at LEAST one less time than I whined. Dude, we were there for almost 2 hours!! But, I don’t blame them. They had a little doggie with an allergic bee sting bite to attend to. I wanted to tell the poor woman that I would be sobbing, too, and not to be embarrassed, but, Tonks went over and licked her hand, so I think she got the idea. Plus, I smiled at her. Isn’ t that enough?

I got some great tips for the biting issue (I got the low/growl like “no” right!…just, I’m supposed to close her mouth, not grab her neck). I also got a totally kick ass bandanna for my officially Wonderful WonderDog. She didn’t whine or bite when she got her shot or had her temperature taken up the butt (gross! but true).

I’ve also taken her on some incredibly long walks to tire her out so I don’t feel so guilty about crating her at night. She does pretty well, actually, it’s just me who can’t take her adorable puppy eyes.

What was I talking about?

Probably my dog. There’s a costume contest coming up, and we’re totally going to enter it cause if we win? We get a $500 gift certificate for Vet services. I’ll totally take that, yo. Speaking of what we’re willing to spend on our pets, what do y’all think of pet insurance?

No, really. Pet insurance? Yes? No? Wait at least until she’s had her rabies shot/needs my kidney?

I’m sure I had something to say about House, too, but I’m not sure what…maybe I should drink less. Or maybe the episode isn’t very memorable, even though I’m watching it as I write this.

PS - I love my dog. So much so that I can’t sit still for getting up to check and make sure she’s still breathing after her vaccination in case she’s one of those 1 out of a hundred thousand pets who’s allergic to the shots. Which, so far, she’s not.

PS 2 - Get a puppy. It makes everything better.

Remember how I said I might have something to write about other than my Puppy-licious WonderPuppy, Tonks?

Sorry. Today is not that day.

Today will be Tonks’ first visit to the vet. She is just as excited as she always is (read: either sleeping or moving too quickly to see with the human eye…or peeing. Yeah, she does that. A lot). I’m a nervous wreck. What if I’ve already broken her? My sweet, cute, adorable Tonks? Oh my God the vet is totally going to look at me all “Uh, who gave you a dog. You should not have a dog. Try this pet rock, instead. Maybe it’ll live through the night. If not, consider taking yourself out of the gene pool.” (Note: I have not met the vet yet. No, I am not neurotic!)

In other Tonks news, she is learning NOT to bite Mama (yes, I refer to myself as mama. To a dog. But did you SEE the pictures?! She’s CUTE!!!! You’re just jealous because you are not her mama). I hate the whole “correcting” part of training the puppy, but she’s responding quite well to a low and forceful “No!” and, if said offense keeps occuring, holding her by the scruff of the neck (NO! Not in the air. And I’m not hurting her, I swear! All she does is look up at me and then roll over, wagging her tail.). It’s supposed to teach her that I’m the boss. Or something.

Yeah. The whole house training thing. Not going too well. She’s such a little baby, though, that I’m positive that she has no idea what she’s doing. So, we’re working on it. The best that we can.   I have training pads and I take her outside regularly. I am also considering buying stock in paper towels and odor removers.

But the fact that she snuggled up with me during Heroes last night totally makes up for any potty setbacks. That and she is so FUNNY when she bounds up to her ball and pounces on it, all sly like.

Maybe I’ll try to get some “Action” pictures of her soon. So far all I have are cute ones of her sleeping. It’s much easier, albeit more boring.

My dog is cuter than yours. It’s been statistically proven.

Here’s the photographic evidence.

Tonks, sleeping in her brand new, size appropriate crate:

AAANNNNNND, Tonks snuggling at bedtime last night:

Resistance is futile.

(Maybe someday I’ll have something non-Tonks related to post, but I’m not making any promises.)

(P.S. She’s also the smartest mother fucking dog ever. She went pee on the training pads TWICE all by herself! Top THAT!) (Please, don’t. Allow me my delusions. They’re so wonderful and keep me warm at night.)
