For a while, I was very very anal about being anonymous in the Land-o-Blog. I was skeert of people finding out who I was, that it might make me less candid in my writing. Or that my mom would find out that I swear, or something.
I’m sorta getting over that. For one, I don’t have a ton of readers. I know that can change, and I’d be thrilled if it did, but still. I don’t have hundreds of people checking my site daily. Also, there’s the fact that I told a lot of my friends about the blog which kinda defeated the whole point of being Unknown.
So, anyway, now I’ve added my blog to my Facebook page, which takes away even that last shred of anonymity. I’m pretty OK with that; I don’t list my address or phone number there, either. It just means that my old college roomies are more likely to realize what a “backslider” I’ve become. It was bound to happen, sooner or later. Maybe some of them have done 180’s since freshman indoctrination orientation, too!

I was talking with my friend Lil after church yesterday (she also went to Wheaton) and we joked that just about everyone who came out of there that we know of came out more liberal than they went in.
So here’s hoping this is a good thing!
And hey, the unexamined life isn’t worth living. So why not have some judgmental college peers do the examining?
I started off anonymous and a few months ago threw in some pictures so I’m not really anymore. I’m hoping that if anyone I know finds my blog, they will keep it to themselves and I will continue to write like I do
At the start I tried to keep my blog and real life separate, although I did post photos and whatever. Facebook was the end of it for me as well.
John - Ha ha ha ha. So true. I’m sure some of their blogs would be even racier than mine! If not, then, well, more snark for us!
Missy and Jamie - It seems like a lot of us TRY to be anonymous at first, but are either too lazy (like me) or just decide it’s worth the risk. Luckily my family has no idea what a blog IS, so I think I’m still OK on that front. And I’ve also decided that writing for other people is much less fun, so screw it.
